Road To Rock will put his Australian Cup credentials on the line in the Listed Sportingbet Gold Cup at Caulfield.
“He's in form and he'll improve again from his win last start,” Cummings told AAP.
“Second-up at 1500 metres probably just saw him out in terms of fitness.
“He'd pretty much had enough on the line but he's done very well since and he's certain to be the testing material on Saturday.”
Road To Rock won at Moonee Valley on Australia Stakes day and steps up to 2000 metres at Caulfield.
Damien Oliver will retain the ride on Road To Rock, a $15 chance to win the Australian Cup at Flemington.
