Solo Flyer will take an unblemished four-year-old record into the $2 million Doncaster Mile after stretching his winning sequence at Rosehill.
Ridden by Corey Brown, Solo Flyer swept to an authoritative victory in the Group Two Ajax Stakes (1500m).
The win was enough for a Racing NSW official to confirm Solo Flyer would attract a penalty which will lift him safely into the Doncaster Mile field.
Solo Flyer is now unbeaten in three runs since resuming. His sequence includes a record-breaking win in the Newmarket Handicap at Newcastle.
"It's always easier working with sharp tools and he’s very sharp at the moment," trainer Anthony Cummings said.
"On the turn when they loomed up I was worried that he was too far forward and might run out of steam.
"But he showed Group One qualities in the closing stages to blow them away and Corey Brown deserves plenty of credit for a great ride too."
Solo Flyer, who started at $4.60, won by 1-1/4 lengths. Cummings said he would now give Solo Flyer a barrier trial before the Doncaster Mile on April 18.
TAB Sportsbet has cut Solo Flyer's quote to $15 for the Doncaster.
