Lightly-raced filly Readily took a positive step towards joining the stable’s Queensland winter carnival team after producing a storming finish to win at Canterbury.
Having just her fifth start, Readily gave away a big start before claiming a photo win in the Freeway Hotel Brasserie Handicap(1500m).
“I will give her another start in Sydney and if she runs well again I’ll send her to Brisbane,” trainer Anthony Cummings said.
“She is a progressive filly with a bright future.”
Ridden by Craig Agnew, Readily started at $12 and her 35.54secs final sectional was the best of the Canterbury meeting – a statistic that underlines her potential.
Readily is by sire-of-the-moment More Than Ready and boasts an international pedigree courtesy of her Irish-bred dam Ever Revie, a half-sister to the 1998 Italian two-year-old of the year Onice Nero.
