Recoup out to make his fortune at Kensington
The Anthony Cummings stable will be represented by a promising team of young horses and Wednesday’s Randwick Kensington meeting led by spring prospect Recoup De Fortune.

The four-year-old will resume from a 14-week spell in the Filante Handicap (1300m) and will be ridden by Corey Brown who has elected to stick with the son of Fusaichi Pegasus.

Brown rode Recoup De Fortune to a brilliant 3-1/2 length win on the Kensington track on June 8 which prompted Cummings to put the gelding away and plot a spring campaign.

“There are plenty of good races up in Sydney for him to run in during the early past of the spring,” Cummings said. “But we also nominated him for Saturday’s meeting but he might not get a run.

“We’ve got him in on Wednesday and he needs to win to boost his rating and get into the harder races. It’s a matter of taking our opportunities with him both here and when heads to Melbourne later.”

Promising three-year-old filly Lovemelikearock will tackle the older mares in the Private Steer Handicap (1300m) on the same program.

Lovemelikearock finished second to Headway at Group III level in the Sweet Embrace Stakes before running a good fourth in the Magic Night Stakes in the autumn before resuming with a solid fifth on the Kensington track on August 5.

“We nominated her for the Run To The Rose last Saturday but we thought this race would be a better option for her,” Cummings said. “She’ll hopefully run well and hopefully earn herself a return to stakes class next time out.

Glyn Schofield will be aboard Lovemelikearock on Wednesday.

Other runners from the Anthony Cummings stable include Arcora who will improve on his debut fourth when he steps out in the Lonhro Maiden Plate and Ambitious Princess can kick the day off on a good note for the stable when she runs in the Al Mansour Handicap (1550m).
