Top Sydney jockey Glyn Schofield rode a winner For Randwick trainer Anthony Cummings for the second successive day after booting home Spirit Of Destiny at Hawkesbury.
Schofield scored for Cummings aboard Lovemelikearock at Randwick on Wednesday and only had to wait until his second ride of Thursday’s meeting before getting on the winner’s list.
Schofield partnered Motivation to a solid second placing behind Vain Shadow when on the pace all the way but adopted contrasting tactics aboard Spirit Of Destiny in the 1400-metre maiden.
The son of Pentire settled well back behind a reasonable speed before rocketing home over the top of his rivals to win by a long neck over the Gerald Ryan-trained Khamsin Warrior.
The five-year-old gelding looks to be reaching the peak of his powers and will only improve on his effort with added fitness and has been placed up to 1500 metres.
Two races later, the lightly raced three-year-old Bach turned in a good effort to finish fourth in a three-year-old maiden over 1300 metres.
