Proven big race performer Turffontein is spot on for his tilt at Saturday's $500,000 William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley after a sparkling gallop at the track on Tuesday morning.
The Anthony Cummings trained galloper, already a Group 1 winner, worked with Mark Zahra in the saddle while Glen Boss takes over the reins in the William Reid.
"Mark said he worked extremely well and that's good enough for me, he's a good judge," said Cummings.
Turffontein will start from barrier three in the William Reid which boasts a quality field that includes Nicconi and top three-year-olds Wanted and the unbeaten Black Caviar.
"It's not going to be an easy race but Turffontein is proven in the top grade," said Cummings.
"He'll get around Moonee Valley with no worries and he's in the race right up to his ears."
